POKOTABI / Raiden
さっぽろ 羅偉伝 高田馬場店
Sapporo Raiden in Takadanobaba serves rich miso ramen sealed under a layer of lard alongside fragrant fried rice, with a counter-centric layout ideal for solo diners.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
When the bowl is set before you, you might notice surprisingly little steam rising from the broth. A layer of lard floating on top acts like a lid, so taking a sip releases a rush of intense heat and deep savory richness trapped beneath. The miso ramen at Sapporo Raiden Takadanobaba delivers an authentic taste of this classic Sapporo tradition.
The soup is paired with medium-thick, yellowish curly noodles. Boasting a firm bite and springy chew, they carry the concentrated miso broth with every lift. Stirring in the dollop of grated ginger topping bit by bit brings a crisp, refreshing note to the rich miso finish, keeping the palate engaged right down to the last spoonful.
For a heartier meal, the half fried rice set makes a dependable addition. The fragrant fried rice pairs naturally with the ramen broth, offering a satisfying double-carb combination. There are plenty of ways to adjust the bowl to your liking, from the Toku-nose topping combination with two slices of chashu and a seasoned soft-boiled egg, to the Nira Miso option featuring fragrant garlic chives.
Seating is focused primarily along the counter, making it an easy spot to drop by on your own for a prompt lunch or an unhurried dinner after work. The shop accepts cash only and does not take reservations, allowing you to stop in whenever the craving strikes and simply savor a steaming bowl.
